"In My Dreams", Acrylic on Canvas, 36x36, $1400
I've been drawn to art since I could pick up a pencil. I grew up in Port Orchard, a small rural community sixty miles west of Seattle. I attended a local community college followed by the University of Washington studying both commercial and fine art. I worked in the commercial art field for thirty years but never abandoned the fine arts and continued to explore and create with a variety of mediums. After decades of juggling life's obligations and distractions, I decided to devote all of my creative energy into painting, and now want to share my passion with collectors who embrace my contribution to the world of fine art.
My painting journey includes— Abstraction, Cubism, Expressionism, Fantasy, Figurative, Montage, Naïveté, Surrealism, and frequently a combination of them. I have also repurposed imagery from past masters into my paintings to pay tribute to their genius. I enjoy creating paintings that are engaging and unexpected and take pleasure in knowing everyone who views my paintings has a different interpretation.
My appreciation for painting is influenced by painters throughout history that are too long to list. My appreciation and influence for all things artistic include primitive expression, common objects, worldwide ethnic cultures and middle and far eastern art.
