"Color Four Ways"
This show is a collaboration of 3 painters and friends, Kristen Reitz-Green, Alison Engle, and Lisa Lamoreaux, and one glass artist, Kelley Johnson, using a set of 4 color palettes to create pieces in their own individual styles. The artwork will showcase each artist's unique personal style ranging from abstraction to intuitive to hyperrealistic. Kelley Johnson created a set of gorgeous handblown marbles that are the subject matter for Kristen Reitz-Green’s marble paintings. The color palette itself was chosen for its richness in oranges, reds, blues and greens.
Come immerse yourself in color and richness at the Red Sky Gallery in November. The show opens November 2nd with an Artist’s reception from 5:00 -8:00 PM.

"A Story of History", Lisa Lamoreaux
Alison Engle Alison grew up near Seattle, then escaped to the foothills of Mt. Baker and has now resided on San Juan Island since 1998. After years of converting her artistic outlet from making art to remodeling her home, she was encouraged to pick up a paint brush and see what happened - that was in 2010. She has been painting ever since! Alison’s work is rich with color and texture and more often than not is abstract. The layers of texture, the arrangement of shapes and use of color can bring about the most unexpected results. Her work is inspired by things found in both manmade and natural environments; the weathered side of a building, the peeling bark of a Madrone, or the aged hull of a boat in the harbor or a tanker at sea. What may have once been a perfect surface now tells a story of years of sun, rain and seawater that now crack the surface and reveal a different type of beauty. “In my work, I prefer palette knives to brushes, loving the effect you get, as you never know where the paint will cover the canvas or where it will skip over the surface. I use a variety of tools, and yes, even a pizza cutter, to make patterns or scratch away paint adding texture or revealing a secret message. Adding numbers, letters or words - sometimes informs the viewer or can spark the imagination.”
The show opens November 2nd with an artist’s reception from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

I'm Kelley Johnson, and my journey with glass began in 2004 when I discovered the art of home studio glass bead-making. This newfound passion ignited a creative spark, driving me to expand beyond painting and explore new possibilities. Through self-directed learning and experimentation, I spent a decade mastering glass beads and jewelry design. In 2014, I stumbled upon marbles and was captivated by the potential to craft intricate, large-scale orbs that contain entire worlds. My fascination with Borosilicate glass continues to inspire me, unlocking endless opportunities for innovation and artistic growth.
The show opens November 2nd with an artist’s reception from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
