Bio
My artist’s bio…
try not to be pretentious;
good luck with that one.
Okay, so a haiku is not sufficient for a bio. The story of my artistic development is a short, boring tale of stick-to-it-iveness, with very little formal training and very little interchange with the art world. For me, being an artist has always been an internal matter. Painting is my prayer to beauty and light. That’s pretty much it. What forever remains is the main task of achieving a good composition, before anything else, as it comes from beyond technique, beyond the consciousness. I find landscapes most evocative of my study of light and color, and they fit seamlessly into my love of hiking the Northwest. From my love of practical design, I also build backpacking easels—so that I can paint en plein air “more easely” (pardon the pun).
