BOTANICAL ECO PRINT WORKSHOP SATURDAY august 15th
1:00-4:30 PM
DESCRIPTION OF WORKSHOP: Students will assemble an 11x60” silk charmeuse scarf using fresh leaves. This process also requires a cotton scarf giving you TWO scarves by the time we are finished. Plant material will PRINT onto the fabric. Colette will help you assemble your silk and cotton bundles to prepare them for steaming. While all the bundles are steaming (at least 1.5 hours), she will explain the preparation of scarves to receive the leaf prints. You may also use this time to explore the wonderful Gallery art and or get a treat from nearby Honey Bear Bakery!
WHAT TO BRING: Everything will be provided but please bring an apron if you have one. Teacher will have extras. Wear old clothes as the process can stain your clothing. Gloves provided. Wear masks if you choose.

Karen Towey has loved color since childhood. There were only ten crayons in her first crayon box—she colored with nine of them and ate one. Thankfully her diet has improved, but her love of color never changed.
Today, Karen is a Pacific Northwest artist, longtime art teacher, and firm believer that everyone can learn to paint. Drawing the Pacific Northwest
Discover the beauty of the Pacific Northwest—one sketch at a time. Whether you’re picking up a pencil for the first time or looking to strengthen your drawing skills, this six-week course will teach you how to truly see like an artist. In a relaxed, encouraging environment, you’ll learn shading, perspective, texture, composition, and techniques for drawing landscapes, wildlife, and natural objects. Each class builds on the last as you complete beautiful finished drawings while growing your confidence and creativity.
