DESCRIPTION OF WORKSHOP: Students will assemble an 11x60” silk charmeuse scarf using fresh leaves. This process also requires a cotton scarf giving you TWO scarves by the time we are finished. Plant material will PRINT onto the fabric. Colette will help you assemble your silk and cotton bundles to prepare them for steaming. While all the bundles are steaming (at least 1.5 hours), she will explain the preparation of scarves to receive the leaf prints. You may also use this time to explore the wonderful Gallery art and or get a treat from nearby Honey Bear Bakery!
WHAT TO BRING: Everything will be provided but please bring an apron if you have one. Teacher will have extras. Wear old clothes as the process can stain your clothing. Gloves provided. Wear masks if you choose.
You can send a message to: 2highberger@comcast.net if you are interested in a private party eco-print workshop and I will return your message. Check the Red Sky Gallery web site for future workshops. Please don’t hesitate to contact Colette with questions.
