"Two Chickadees", Raku, $300
I am a North Seattle Artist creating distinctive pottery! I have been playing with clay off and on since the early 1970s. According to my mom, I have been playing with clay (modeling) since I was three years old. I studied painting and drawing during the 1960’s but I fell in love with fired clay in the early 1970s. I studied pottery at Spokane Falls Community College, Gonzaga University and North Seattle Community College. I had an opportunity to study with a Japanese potter in the 80’s, and many of my shapes still reflect his influence. In 2017 I retired from a technology career and opened my own pottery studio and never looked back!.
Beginning in 2019 I started exploring the technical limits of the Raku process and developed a unique process that allows me to combine my drawing and clay to capture what I see and experience living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
